When I change my DHCP Configuration to hand out my VPN's DNS server, I simply can't reach any sites so it seems Tunnel VPN does not allow for this quite yet.

Aug 08, 2016 · The OpenVPN in Untangle is a great way to establish site to site VPN between Untangle boxes. It is also free as opposed to the IPSec VPN app which is one of the pay for modules. However, there are some frustrations with visibility in troubleshooting information.

The Untangle IPsec VPN is mainly used to provide site-to-site connections, which have many advantages over site-to-site solutions provided by OpenVPN including (but not limited to) better support for sharing, replication, LDAP protocols, and higher speed. Untangle IPsec VPN also provides the client-to-site connection method based on L2TP/IPsec

As long as your Untangle router fully supports IPSEC it should work. I will say that VPNs are hard enough to get working properly without having two different kinds of routers. I'd strongly suggest you get two Untangles or two Sonicwalls so the differences between the two will not be the issue.
